Charming central European bed and breakfast on the island of Päijätsalo, near Päijänne National Park. Enjoy walking paths straight from the lodge door during the day and the tranquillity of the shining Scandinavian mid summer night sky. Situated on the longest Finish lake, Päijänne, there are many opportunities for swimming and Sauna(inhouse or strand), fishing, boating, biking, relaxing, music events (Sysmän Suvisoitto) and sahti drinking.

Or come and experience fresh and colourful autumn events. Collect and taste local berries and mushrooms, go net fishing and spring lobster catching, organized boat trips on the Päijänne and the local Päijänne Spring Event week.

Or enjoy a variety of winter activities. Walk with snowshoes on the frozen Päijänne, cross country ski on lit night time paths through the forest, bilking (ice fishing), snowmobile driving, ice skating or experience an ice sauna.

What is included?

Normal rent includes breakfast, and additionally lunch and an evening meal if you like. Every room has a private bathroom/wc, shower and TV.

We offer foreign Fins a chance to have a unique holiday in their homeland as they like, for example:

• a day's journey into the old home town and visit the local attractions and met people;
• visit a Finnish outdoor theater performance in Heinola;
• depending on the season: visit of a Finnish local event, like Jazz, Pop, Tango-championship,…;
• visit a typical finnish City Market (Sysmä, Heinola, Lahti);
• boat trip on the nearby Päijänne to Hermit-Island, island park “Kelvenne” or only to fish
• upon request we can prepare your favorite dishes mentioned by you
• and much more... maybe you do have your own ideas and wishes, if sufficient time for your residence in Finland.
